Curriculum
The school will:
- Ensure that every pupil is taught at an appropriate and challenging level.
- Track pupil progress through regular marking & assessment
- Provide a broad and balanced curriculum including the National Curriculum and RE.
- Provide a variety of enrichment activities, life skills, clubs and visits over the 4 years of Middle School
As a parent I will:
- Encourage my child to participate fully in all school activities
- Support my child’s learning at school by attending Parent Pupil Teacher meetings, performances and other school activities.
- Provide my child with the required school uniform, PE kit and everyday equipment for the classroom.
As a pupil at Ipsley I will:
- Work hard and do my work to the best of my ability
- Bring and use correct everyday equipment including my school uniform and PE kit
Behaviour
The school will:
- Ensure that pupils are familiar with the School Values, Rules and Routines
- Use rewards and sanctions fairly
- Investigate instances of poor behaviour and bullying with compassion and justice
- Demonstrate forgiveness and provide guidance so that each day is a fresh start
- Ensure that staff are good role models
As a parent I will:

Homework
The school will:
- Extend the pupils’ learning by providing tasks to be completed outside the school day
- Provide a Learning Diary for school/family communication
- Provide an on-line Virtual Learning Environment
As a parent I will:
- Help my child find a quiet place and time to do their homework and to submit it on time
- Read to and with my child frequently and encourage my child to read for enjoyment
- Monitor my child’s Learning Diary, signing it weekly, and using it to aid school/family communication
As a pupil at Ipsley I will:
- Record my homework in my Learning Diary
- Complete my homework tasks and submit them on time
Attendance
The school will:
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and punctuality.
- Monitor each child’s attendance and contact parents/carers if there is an attendance or punctuality problem.
- Contact parents/carers on the first day of any unnotified absence.
- Reward good attendance.
As a parent I will:
- Make sure my child attends school every day, on time.
- Make sure my child can get to school and home safely
- Contact the school before 9.30am, should my child be absent, providing a reason for absence.
- Avoid taking a holiday during school time
As a pupil at Ipsley I will:
- Attend school every day and be on time for lessons.
- Aim to achieve 100% attendance.
