22 Jun Humanutopia
The whole of Year 7 took part in a very special and emotion packed ‘Humanutopia Day’ on Friday 22nd June 2018. The aim of the day was to allow pupils to empower themselves to be the very best that they can be.
Our pupils warmly welcomed Tamara and Chris (from Humanutopia) into our school and they quickly formed an incredible bond and an atmosphere in which pupils felt safe, secure and supported. Tamara and Chris enabled our pupils to reflect upon their lives so far, reflect upon the type of person that they have become and encouraged them to commit to change.
By the end of the day, pupils were working positively and harmoniously with everybody in the year group; it was amazing to see and be a part of. Our pupils and staff were totally blown away by the day. Pupils said:
¨ ‘It was the best day of my life, the chance of a life time’.
¨ ‘Tamara and Chris were cool, trendy and down with the kids, they understood us’.
¨ ‘It was inspiring, cool, calm, emotional and totally different from school’.
¨ ‘Tamara and Chris were legends’
¨ ‘It taught us life skills to help us have a better life’.
¨ ‘There was a great atmosphere and a good energy’
A fabulous day was had by all. Thank you so much to Tamara and Chris, they gained the confidence of the pupils in such a short space of time. Impressive!
